Honeywell RCW100N1000/N Wired Door Chime Review

I used this to replace a 50-year old chime. It integrated perfectly into the current setup. Did not have to replace the transformer (which is installed somewhere in the wall, I didn't even see it)

I gave it a 4 because it is a basic door chime. Simple "Ding Dong"....nothing spectacular.

If you are looking for a simple replacement, this is a good way to go. I like that it has the battery option if the transformer is shot...(and you don't want to dig through the wall to find it).

I would buy it again...

This is a great replacement door bell. It works off battery or wired in. The battery feature is great because my previous door bell's transformer was broken.

Had the door bell chime in my office for notice that we had visitors or deliveries etc. It lasted about two weeks. We smelled smoke and noticed that the door bell had ceased working. The plunger mech had melted!!! I know it is an inexpensive item, but it is cheaply made, and I fear a hazard!!

Hiring professionals to install or wiring a doorbell may cost you more than the actual price of the doorbell itself. With a few simple steps you are all set to go when it comes to wiring doorbells.

For any amateur person, wiring a doorbell for the first time is much easier than having to fix or replace an existing wiring doorbell. Wireless doorbells are very much popular and available in all supermarkets. There are certain advantages that a wireless doorbell has in comparison to that of the wired doorbell. The wireless doorbell consists of a radio transmitter and a receiver; this means that you do not need wires to connect the devices. The wireless doorbell systems allow many electrical outlets to be installed at various parts of the house. This is convenient for people with less hearing abilities. Wireless doorbell systems are powered by a rechargeable battery.

A person does not need to have the necessary skills and experience when it comes to wiring a doorbell. Simple steps are outlined in the manual guide and once followed will help to set up the wired doorbell. If the existing wired doorbell needs to be replaced, a check needs to be conducted to make sure that the wire is not damaged. For the installation process all that you need is a new bell, screwdrivers and wire strippers.
